Thermostat
The thermostat controls when coolant begins flowing through the radiator.
What it does
Helps the engine warm up quickly and then stay near its designed operating temperature.
Failure signs
- Engine runs cold
- P0128 code
- Poor cabin heat
- Overheating if stuck closed
- Temperature gauge moves abnormally
Maintenance notes
- Use the correct temperature rating.
- Bleed air from the cooling system after replacement.
- Check coolant condition and leaks before blaming the thermostat.
