AC Compressor
The AC compressor circulates refrigerant through the air conditioning system.
What it does
Compresses refrigerant so heat can be moved from the cabin to the condenser.
Failure signs
- AC blows warm
- Compressor does not engage
- Clicking or grinding noise
- Metal debris in system
- Belt squeal when AC turns on
Maintenance notes
- Do not add refrigerant repeatedly without leak diagnosis.
- Confirm pressure, clutch command, and electrical control before replacing.
- A failed compressor can require system cleaning and related parts.
